Sixth Grade Cotillion
Sixth grade students focus on the three steps of the swing and the foxtrot and part of one Latin dance- Cha-Cha-Cha, Tango or Rumba. Students may select either a Monday night or a Tuesday night class. The cost is $210.00. Students can make up a lesson on an opposite night. Classes are register ed evenly, and cotillion is best when there are the same number of gentlemen to ladies. Please see schedule page for dates and times.
Seventh Grade Cotillion
Seventh grade students review material from the sixth grade, learn a specific point of etiquette at each class- flowers, thank you notes, telephone etiquette, helping girls with coats- have a Western party where the students wear Western clothing (Jeans, hats, boots), learn two more steps to the swing, learn more complex dance steps to Latin dances- complete the Cha-Cha-Cha, Tango and Rumba. Students who did not attend sixth grade cotillion are welcome. There will be a pre-session for students without prior cotillion experience from 7:15-7:45 PM for the first two sessions to insure their comfort zone. The first two Seventh Grade Cotillion classes are a review of Sixth Grade Cotillion. The cost is $210.00. Please see schedule page for dates and times.
Eighth Grade Cotillion
Eighth grade students enjoy the "Tuesday Night Supper Club." The cost is $210.00, and the students attend one dance and etiquette session and four dinner parties. The emphasis at the supper club is on dining and table etiquette. Students arrive at 7:30, are seated for dinner by 7:45, dine until 8:45, dance until 9:30 when the class is concluded. -Dance and Etiquette Lesson: Students will meet in the ballroom for a review of dance and etiquette. Refreshments will be served while the students learn what is expected at the Supper Club. Students should dress in Cotillion attire- dresses and gloves, and coats and ties. This is a very important session, dinner is not served.
-Formal Party I: October Theme
Students will dress in their Cotillion attire. Dinner will be served with fall flair, and dancing will conclude the evening.
- Formal Party II: Western Theme
A Western theme tonight, the students will experience some South Western cuisine and try a few Western dances! Please dress in Cotillion attire, dresses and coats and ties.
- Formal Party III: Winter Theme
We will enjoy a formal dinner, party games and some Latin dances. Students should dress in their best winter attire- party dresses and coats and ties.
- Beach Party
Everyone is looking forward to Spring Break! We will be anticipating those beautiful spring days that are just around the corner. Students should break out their jams, sunglasses, and warm beach attire. An informal plate dinner will be served, and we will try some line dances and twist music from the '60s! Tonight, the students should dress for the beach. We will practice our etiquette and table manners; however, we will do so in different attire. Trophies for dancing awarded this evening! |
