Rebecca's Cotillion offers young adults the opportunity to experience the joy of ballroom dancing and social graces in an atmosphere designed specifically for middle school students. Students are taught inclusive manners. In a junior high world that can be exclusive and cliquish, students are encouraged to be friendly and welcoming to all individuals in the class as well as to the parents and adults who assist with class. This training builds confidence and self-esteem in young adults and transfers to high school, college and adult life as these young people continue their journeys through maturation.
Rebecca combines the skills of classroom management, ballroom dancing and etiquette for an enjoyable evening for middle school students. Her 23 years as a classroom teacher of both junior high and high school students enables her to manage middle school students with grace, wit and charm. Because she is a high school teacher, she understands the current trends and stresses of adolescent life. Rebecca communicates effectively with the students, and ancient age-old manners become relevant tools for survival in the middle school world and later in the adult world.
